The order includes 24 firm aircraft with options for an additional 50, carrying a total estimated value of approximately $2.1 billion at list prices. The aircraft will initially enter service with LATAM Airlines Brasil, with potential for later allocation to other airlines within the group.
Expanding the Regional Network
The new E195-E2 aircraft will enable LATAM to expand its regional and domestic flight offerings, particularly to less accessible cities and on lower-density routes where larger narrow-body jets would be economically unviable. Over the past four years, LATAM has grown its network from 129 to approximately 160 destinations, and with the deployment of these new aircraft, it plans to add up to 35 more.
E195-E2 Technical Highlights
The E195-E2, the largest aircraft in the Embraer E-Jet E2 family, has a length of 41.51 metres and a wingspan of 35.12 metres. It features a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 62,500 kilograms and can accommodate up to 148 passengers in a single-class configuration or 120 in a multi-class layout. The aircraft has a maximum speed of Mach 0.82 and a range of up to 5,600 km (approximately 3,024 nm).
Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1900G engines, the aircraft delivers efficient fuel consumption and lower emissions, contributing to more sustainable operations and reduced operating costs.
Passenger Comfort
The 2+2 seating configuration, which eliminates middle seats, enhances comfort for passengers. Modern amenities include spacious overhead bins, in-seat power outlets, innovative LED lighting, and touchless lavatories.
Strategic Fleet Diversification
LATAM’s current fleet comprises approximately 362 aircraft, including 283 Airbus narrow-bodies and 56 Boeing wide-bodies. The introduction of the E195-E2 underscores the airline’s strategy to diversify with smaller, more flexible aircraft, enabling more efficient operations on lower-demand regional routes.
Economic and Environmental Benefits
Thanks to its new-generation engines and advanced aerodynamics, the E195-E2 delivers significant environmental and economic benefits, reducing both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. LATAM stresses that the investment is aligned with its financial strategy and will not require any adjustments to its financing or liquidity.
This major order confirms the growth trend in South American regional aviation and demonstrates LATAM’s confidence in modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible technology.
