Eurowings’ Prague Base: Plans for the Winter 2025/26 Schedule

Eurowings is one of three carriers operating a base at Prague Airport. The German low-cost carrier, a member of the Lufthansa Group, opened its Prague base in the autumn of 2021. Initially, it focused on European city destinations, but has since shifted its focus to holiday destinations in Southern Europe, dropping several city routes. During the summer months, three Airbus A320s are based in Prague, reducing to two in the winter. The Winter 2025/26 schedule, which begins at the end of October, will be marked primarily by significant cuts, changes in plans, and the introduction of charter flights for tour operators.

Scheduled Routes:

During the winter schedule, Eurowings will offer scheduled flights from Prague to 9 destinations. This is a significant reduction compared to the current summer schedule, which features 15 destinations.

Routes to Athens, Heraklion, Cologne, Nice, Valencia, and Palma de Mallorca will be discontinued. Contrary to original plans, the carrier has cancelled scheduled flights to Rome (currently on sale from 29 March 2026) and Barcelona (not currently on sale for the Summer 2026 schedule). In April of this year, Eurowings announced a major expansion. With the start of the winter schedule, it planned to launch scheduled routes to all four main Canary Islands (Lanzarote, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura). These plans have also changed significantly; with the exception of the Tenerife route, the launch of these services has been postponed until the end of March 2026.

Conversely, in recent days, new scheduled routes to Beirut and Marrakech have been announced. Eurowings plans to launch flights to both destinations in the first half of November.

A notable feature of Eurowings’ scheduled services is the frequent changes in frequency and temporary suspension of operations. For most of January, nearly all scheduled routes will be suspended, with only flights to Düsseldorf operating. Operations will therefore be minimal during this period.

Overview of Scheduled Routes for Winter 2025/26:

  • Alicante (ALC) – 2x weekly with breaks from 17 Nov to 19 Dec and from 5 Jan to 13 Feb.
  • Beirut (BEY) – 1x weekly with a break from 2 Jan to 30 Jan (new destination)
  • Düsseldorf (DUS) – 6 to 7x weekly
  • Madeira (FNC) – 1x weekly with breaks from 22 Nov to 20 Dec and from 3 Jan to 7 Feb.
  • Málaga (AGP) – 1 to 2x weekly with a break from 6 Jan to 1 Feb.
  • Marrakech (RAK) – 2x weekly with a break from 3 Jan to 14 Feb (new destination)
  • Stockholm (ARN) – 2x weekly with a break from 9 Jan to 9 Feb.
  • Tenerife (TFS) – 1x weekly with a break from 7 Jan to 11 Feb.
  • Geneva (GVA) – 2 to 4x weekly with a break from 4 Jan to 6 Feb.

Charter Routes:

For the first time, Eurowings will also offer charter flights from Prague for tour operators during the winter season. Charter flights have recently become an increasingly common part of Eurowings’ operations; during the current summer schedule, the carrier operates charters to Larnaca and Faro. In the winter schedule, charter flights will operate to the following three destinations.

Hi! I’m Beatrix, and at AeroInfo.eu I’m in charge of everything that keeps this European aviation portal for pilots running smoothly. I publish articles, tweak whatever needs fixing, and make sure everything works as it should. I live somewhere between text editing and airplanes – and I absolutely love that combination. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve looked up at the sky and dreamed of flying and piloting aircraft. Now, I’m finally making that dream come true – I’m currently training to become a pilot at the Aeroprague flight school, and with every flight, I’m getting closer to my goal. It’s not always easy, but that just makes me even more determined. I want to show that when you truly love something, you can chase it – even all the way to the clouds.
