New Radars for the Brdy and Vysočina Highlands
Eldis won the tender with its combined RL-2000 Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR) and MSSR-1 Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR). Both systems will be housed in a protective radome, which shields the antenna from weather while ensuring minimal signal distortion. The installation is scheduled for the period between 2025 and 2029.
“Securing a flagship contract from a domestic client is a great testament to a manufacturer’s quality. We appreciate the trust that the state-owned Air Navigation Services of the Czech Republic has placed in us,” said Vladimír Vojáček, CEO of Eldis Pardubice. “Upon completion of this project, our radars will cover the entire airspace of the Czech Republic, serving both civil and military infrastructure.”
Coverage for Both Civil and Military Operations
The new systems at the PISEK and BUKOP sites will provide full secondary coverage for cooperative targets within the Prague Flight Information Region (FIR Praha), as well as primary surveillance to detect non-cooperative objects. The delivery will include secondary surveillance radars compliant with the latest EUROCONTROL EMS 4.0 standard.
Upon completion of the project, Eldis Pardubice will be the radar supplier for all key civil and military sites in the Czech Republic, with the exception of the approach radar for the Prague TMA. The company’s systems will thus provide surveillance over the entire national airspace.
